Super charge your inner strength.
The combination of physical movement and breathing techniques practiced in Pilates are particularly beneficial for building immunity.

Alongside a healthy diet and lifestyle, Pilates can considerably boost your systems ability to fight bugs and viruses and keep you fighting fit throughout winter, here’s how:
Proper breathing supplies our body with more oxygen. How often do you find yourself shallow breathing over the day? (Bet you just took a deep breath!). When you come to class you are constantly reminded to consciously breathe, with regular practice you will find you breathe better during all of your daily activities. We teach diaphragmatic breathing. This technique involves fully engaging the abdominal muscles and diaphragm when breathing, helping you to fill and importantly fully empty your lungs more efficiently.
Pilates movements continually activates your lymph nodes, creating a pumping action for the lymphatic system. This stimulates your body to eliminate toxins from your cells efficiently. Anyone who practises Pilates regularly may find they need to flush their system more regularly (wee more!).
Reformer focus’s on building a strong ‘core’ (muscles stabilising your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen). We also do lots of rotational strength work. This combination aids healthy digestion, promoting good gut health which one of the key factors of feeling great. A healthy gut has been shown to improve your ability to fight illness, increase energy levels and wellbeing.
Pilates makes you happy! We rarely meet anyone who gets on a Reformer and does not enjoy the experience and come back for more. Negative emotions and stress can affect the immune system. Reformer makes your body and mind feel good.
